If You Overthink, Write

January and February are just trial months before we actually start putting our New Year’s resolutions and plans into action. Especially during COVID. The pandemic is still changing our plans, ain’t it?

Newborn Thoughts

It’s been a while since the last time I wrote. And the universe is out there acting crazy, sending out weird-to-interpret messages and signs. It all happens for a reason, they say. A reason that gives you a chance and the time needed to retrospect. New thoughts are, then, born.

Part of The Game

When something new is about to start, whether we know it or intuitively feel it, we need time to consider, imagine our future self, and set our priorities straight. Overthinking is part of the game. That’s what happens in the first two months of the year. But time goes fast, and action is needed.

Transition Commitments

We commit to doing things that are just convenient at a specific point of our life, but then what? Till when? How long is that transition period? How long are January and February gonna last? Yes, it’s always convenient to stay in safe in January and February. Comfort zone alert.

Compromising Traps

“I’m not settling for this anymore; I want my something extra.” Bring spring into your life. Be it a new job, new surroundings, new friendships, new people in your life, we always need to believe in the existence of this something extra.

That extra something that feeds the soul.

Have you found yourself in a dilemma recently?

  • Are you ready to make THAT decision?
  • Are you ready to address people in your life and say, “I want MORE of you” or “I want LESS of you?”.
  • Are you ready to quit your stable job and seek adventure?
  • Are you ready to move out again and start over?
  • Would you travel to a far-away country where the streets have no name?
  • Are you ready to change? Are you even open to change?

Too many questions. Too many dilemmas. And I continue.

  • What makes you feel special?
  • Who makes you feel special?
  • Is this what you really, really want?
  • How long will you go like this?

A therapist would struggle to follow that train of thought of mine. Probably you too, but trust me, writing does help. At least, me.

They say if you overthink, write. If you underthink, read.

Inconsistent thoughts to keep in mind or simply COVID side effects.

Why not, after all.

Find the courage. Express yourself. Move forward.

Next.
